Uncle Steve has been fighting illnesses for many years and last night at the age of 60, uncle Steve passed away. There were many times in his life that he and I had the understanding that he would act like a father to me and I would act like his son. He gave me sage advice and threatened to kick my ass if I didn't listen to it. Luckily I always did. ;) The classic "Rough exterior, soft interior" man could not have been better exemplified than in Uncle Steve. When he spoke it may have sounded rough and unpolished but behind that façade there was kindness and well thought out words. He was a provider, honest, and a caring man. He was open to change, being the first person I knew over 50 that ebraced computers even though it was not required by his job or otherwise. Uncle Steve will be sorely missed by those of us that knew him but I think we can all agree that he fought the battle as long as he was able and lived life to its fullest potential. UPDATE Services will be held at Cummings in Kane, 2-4pm Friday Oct 12th. Then again at 7-9 and burial will be Saturday at 1 PM.
